Job Description: Aircraft Mechanic – Gulfstream/Astra SPX

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and servicing aircraft including airframe components to ensure aircraft remains in safe operating condition.
  • Represent Alia MedFlight’s interests when dealing with MSP and CASP memberships
  • Test, adjust and replace parts such as tires, wiring, and instruments using various test equipment, technical diagrams, maintenance manuals, and mechanics’ tools.
  • Fuel and groom the aircraft, inflates tires and sometimes fills gasoline and oil tanks.
  • Maintain and repair hangar and ground support equipment.
  • Perform duties related to all aircraft arrival and departures and provide all passengers with the highest level of assistance in meeting their particular individual requirements.
  • May perform quality control inspection for work done by other technicians.
  • Ensure documents and records are maintained.
  • Participate in Alia MedFlight corporate meetings as required
  • Respond to evolving tasks assigned by the CEO

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificates required
  • High School/GED diploma with a minimum of 3-5 years of similar maintenance experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to function within a team-oriented environment and work flexible hours
  • Flexibility to respond to emergent issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Willing & able to work in the Phoenix valley

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PRIOR EXPERIENCE AS 135 DOM DESIRED
  • PRIOR EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH ASTRA 1125, ASTRA SPX DESIRED
  • Inspection authorization is a plus and preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of ICU/ED/Trauma experience
  • RN License in State of Operation
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 30 days of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
  • Current passport required
  • Ability to work varied shifts and cover fixed wing air ambulance calls
  • Drug screening and a background investigation required

  • Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) certification preferred but not required.
  • Current Passport required
  • Proficient in all basic therapeutic modalities of respiratory care.
  • Minimum availability required is 6 days a month with one weekend included.
  • Ability to work varied shifts and cover fixed wing air ambulance call shifts.
  • Drug screening and a background investigation required.
  • Must live within an hour of airport and be able to stay on overnights.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and help transfer patients of all ages and physical conditions.
  • Must be flexible and able to handle unexpected situations and delays with a good attitude.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Other languages a plus.

Base Location: Phoenix, AZ area.

Alia MedFlight is an international air ambulance service operating a fleet of three Gulfstream G100 (IAI Astra SPX) based in KPHX. Immediate openings for qualified PIC’s to conduct medical evacuations worldwide.

All candidates must be eligible to fly internationally under Part 135 and ICAO rules. Gulfstream G100, Astra and Westwind types or experience are a plus. All experience is considered. WILL TYPE THE RIGHT APPLICANTS.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Serve as the pilotin-command of an ambulance equipped and staffed jet between world-wide locations.
  • As Captain, you will be the pilot in charge of the aircraft and flight crew for the time which the aircraft is away from the base, as assigned by the FAA Part 135 certificated air carrier.
  • Exercise and demonstrate outstanding decision-making skills
  • Master skills to fly and command the aircraft to high standards
  • Know and maintain safety standards as prescribed by the air carrier

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good general knowledge of FAA Air Carrier regulations
  • Part 135 Air Carrier flight experience in turbo-jet aircraft with crew of two or more OR
  • Substantial flight time in Astra/ G100 jet OR
  • Significant Experience in turbo-jet similar to Astra/ G100
  • Able to travel freely without restrictions through-out the world
  • Must be US citizen or have a legal right to work in the USA
  • Able to be away from home occasionally for several days
  • Work in a high stress environment maintaining calm composure
  • Occasionally Lift 50 to 75 lbs
  • Work various schedules including nights, weekends and holidays

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Airline Transport Rating / Multi-Engine / Land (IAI 1125 or G100 preferred)
  • Current First-Class Aviation Medical Certificate
  • Must be able to meet ICAO requirements, including age limitations for international travel and FAA age limitations for ATP certification
  • Current First-Class Aviation Medical Certificate

SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Alia MedFlight offers an attractive compensation package including competitive base salary plus hourly flight pay & per diem, 14 days on/7 days off schedule, vacation time plus $750 per month health/vision/dental/life insurance allowance provided to all PIC’s who make a 12-month employment commitment.
